For the past four years the Eastern Cape music scene has been dominated by one band. The Transkei Cowboys. Dirty rock chords, reggae flavors and a hint of malice has set this band apart from any around them.
Synonymous with wild parties, the Transkei Cowboys have mastered the art of the entertaining live show. Having several national tours under their belts including major music festivals as well as extensive radio airplay through out South Africa - even scoring a few campus number ones - the Transkei Cowboys dominance is fast spreading outside their region, making this outfit one with exceptional potential.
Drawing inspiration from so many genres the Transkei Cowboys have developed a sound and flavor that is unique. Strong melodies, power chords and exceptional song composition are always present and with their second album only a few months old, a slow steady sadness is reflected in their music. A sign of the maturity and 'growing up' this band has done.
